The ratio of Bax:Bcl-2 (mean ± SEM) in the depression, MI (myocardial infarction) and post-MI depression groups was significantly larger than in the sham group (^a P < 0.01, ^b P < 0.05), the MI and post-MI depression group was significantly larger than the depression group (^c P < 0.01, ^d P < 0.05), and the post-MI depression group was a significantly greater than the MI group (^e P < 0.01, ^f P < 0.05).
