Values are z-scores of A-levels and Highers and are standardized across all applicants (and hence those receiving offers tend to have above average values). Error bars indicate ± 1 SE and because sample sizes are large (typically of the order of 500 and over 5000 in the case of London), error terms are small (see the text).
