1,131

  1. A total of 3,061 survivors were evaluated for in-hospital sequelae. Most of the in-hospital sequelae data comes from the western Africa meningitis belt region. Much less data is available on post-discharge sequelae (n = 1,131 cases) because survivors of bacterial meningitis were lost to follow-up or died after hospital discharge. Most of the post-discharge data comes from the northern Africa region.
