Clinical pathway for the testing and treatment of gonorrhoea infections. Gonorrhoea patients can recover spontaneously or seek care for their infection. Depending on the parameter values of δ, λ A , and ξ R (Table 2), patients are tested with culture, NAAT, POC−R, or POC+R when they seek care. In the NAAT and POC−R scenarios, “Resistance detected?” (yellow) defaults to “no”. In POC−R and POC+R, “returns for treatment?” (blue) defaults to “yes”. In the culture scenario, the flowchart is followed as shown. Dashed arrows indicate that individuals remain infected.
