The AnemoCheck-LRS is a rapid, color-based test that estimates hemoglobin concentration. The addition of a drop of blood (10 μL) to a small amount of reagent changes the color of the solution. The initially clear solution changes color ranging from blue to red. The limits of detection have been specifically designed to detect severe and profound anemia with a detection range of 2–8 g/dL. Panel a depicts the colors that correspond with each 1 g/dL increase in hemoglobin concentration, and panel b detects the test performed using a drop of blood at the point of care.
