Vaginal cytokine levels according to pregnancy outcome in patients with Lactobacillus spp. depleted vaginal microbial composition (n = 37, euploid n = 20 and viable term n = 17). In women with Lactobacillus spp. depleted vaginal microbial compositions, viable pregnancy was associated with significantly higher levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-2 P = 0.004, IL-10 P < 0.001, two tailed Mann-Whitney U test) and lower levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, P < 0.001, IL-1ß P < 0.001, and IL-8 P = 0.01, two tailed Mann Whitney U test) compared to euploid miscarriage.
