Mediating effect of percent body fat on the relationship between body mass index and mortality in participants with FI 0.2–0.3, using the product of coefficients approaches by Mackinnon. *p <0.001. Participants with body mass index 18.5–24.9 kg/m2 as a reference group. Ordinary least squares regression analyses were used to examine the relationship between body mass index and percent body fat. Cox regression analyses were used to examine the relationship of body mass index and percent body fat with mortality risk. The numbers were presented in beta-coefficients (standard error).
