Subgroup analyses of the effects of always adding salt at the table on incident cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality. Hazard ratios were adjusted for age, sex, ethnicity, education, Townsend deprivation index, household income, smoking status, alcohol intake, total physical activity, healthy diet score, BMI, diabetes, dyslipidemia, family history of stroke, and family history of heart disease. (The stratified variable was not adjusted in the model.) *Healthy diet score ranged from 0 to 10, and a higher score denoted a healthier dietary pattern.
