While each risk profile has varying contributions from all eight risk-related variables, certain variables dominate the construction of a dimension. The bars represent the relative contribution of each variable to a given dimension. Contributions that exceed the grey vertical line (calculated as in [20]) belong to variables that are considered the most representative of a dimension (see Additional file 1). Colours show variables that exceed this threshold and will be used to refer to each dimension in subsequent figures
